Abstract

This collection contains original receipts and documents maintained by the Short Family of Worcester County, Maryland that span from the early to late 19th Century. Most promissory notes are in regards to members of the Short Family and give insight into daily life during that time period. Background information and genealogical research can also be viewed about the donor and the Short Family.

Arrangement Statement

This collection has been arranged into two series: Series I. Background Information, documents the history of the materials and an original collection inventory.  Series II. Documents and Receipts, includes the volume of materials maintained by the Short Family including receipts, and judgments from 1810-1896, Worcester County, Maryland. Materials within the collection have been itemized.
