The Frank Dunbaugh Papers document the activity of a Major in the United States Army immediately following the Second World War. Dunbaugh commanded the Allied Military Government (AMG) in the Hersbruck district of post-war Germany. He discussed how his unit identified former Nazi party members, the interrogation of S.S. officers at a castle, a riot in a Polish refugee camp, the mistreatment of civilians and rape of women, American soldiers being ambushed, American G.I.'s mistreating local civilians and German police, encounters with Russian officers, and meeting concentration and labor camp survivors.

Fred Arnolt Letters

The Fred Arnolt Letters were written primarily between 1933 and 1945 from Arnolt, who was a merchant marine in the Isthmian Lines and later served in the Navy Construction Battalion "Seabees," to his parents in Metuchen, New Jersey. From 1942 to 1943, he worked as a technician and engineer for Spencer, White, and Prentis Incorporated in Sierra Leone, South Africa, Iran, and other government-censored locations. Also included are several letters from Joe Mitscher to his wife that are dated 1966; Mitscher wrote about being bloodthirsty and his love for his wife. The attached letters are transcribed.

This collection contains assorted letters and receipts found in the "Old Furbush or Old Watson" farmhouse on Wetipquin Road in Tyaskin, MD in 1977, ranging from 1840 to 1918, of Mary Russell Furbush and her husband George Washington Furbush. Other correspondents are Ebenezer Russell, Ann M. Russell Bush and Leah J. Russell Markwell, siblings of Mary Russell Furbush as well as William Birckhead, Rider and Toadvine, Dr. William H. H. Dashiell, Dr. William T. Smith and James A. J. Willing. Also, included in the collection is a 1793 Maine newspaper which can be found in oversize.
Furnace Town correspondence

The Furnace Town correspondence contains a series of photocopied letters on the topic of Furnace Town near Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland. The letters come from the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Papers of the Jones and Taylor families (#2037; finding aid linked). These letters are placed in chronological order from July 18, 1834 to August 4, 1866. The letters vary in topic; however, the bulk of the conversation covers the construction of the town and the furnace.

The Harold Vassar Papers document the life and military service of a First World War pilot and architect from Ballston Spa, New York from 1917 to 1947. After graduating from Columbia University in 1913 and working as an architect in New York City, Vassar enlisted and graduated from the School of Military Aeronautics at Cornell University in 1917. In 1918 he was promoted to Lieutenant, graduated from the Army School of the Line in France, and became a certified Army Corps instructor.

The Harry B. Young letters were written by a United States Marine to his family in Pleasantville, Iowa between 1942 to 1945. The letters detail Young's time in the marines. Young also wrote to his family on family matters. Young's promotion orders to Sargent are also included in one of his letters. Some letters have been redacted by wartime censors.
Henry Shipley Parker Papers

The Henry Shipley Parker Papers contains photographs, newspapers, plaques, awards, certificates and political information ranging from the 1920s to 2012. The photographs include family pictures of Parker's father, wife and other family members. There are also a number of photographs that are autographed including one signed by Senator John Kerry. In the collection, there are also photographs of Parker’s high school reunion and a Wicomico High Class of 1939 class photo. Also included are photographs of the Adkins family, who owned the company where Henry Parker and his father worked for an extended period of time. The newspapers include articles on the Class of 1939’s reunion, accomplishments of both Henry Parker and his father, and articles on projects in Wicomico County. There are many plaques in this collection illustrating the number of accomplishments Henry Parker made in his lifetime. Included are Fire Department plaques for years of dedication to helping different departments and a Baseball Hall of Membership Plaque. Also plaques from Wicomico County for serving the county and for the many things he helped accomplish; such as the Athletic Complex, the Corrections Facility, the Detention Center, help to the Sheriff’s Department and many more. Included is an Apple from the Teacher Award, the Marilyn J. Praisner Public Service award, the Jack R. Nichols Humanitarian award, the G. Maxwell Armor award and many certificates. This collection includes Henry S. Parker’s political information, including voting records, as well as government Political information, including the 1957 Presidential Inauguration Program. Interesting things included are a US district court case involving the Black population in Wicomico county felt they were suffering from a history of official discrimination and a soldiers World War I Bible.
