This collection contains loose property records related to land in and around Whaleyville, Worcester County, Maryland, including some in Sussex County, Delaware. Many of the grantors and grantees involved in these records were from the Whaley and Dale families, especially through the mid-1800s. One record, included in a subsection of potentially moldy items, documents the adjudication of an enslaved woman, Hannah.

This collection contains financial, personal, and business documents from the Whaley, Dale, and Watson families of the Eastern Shore from 1827-1944. This includes insurance papers, railroad receipts, letters, and bills from the Whaley and Dale family, as well as receipts and papers from Mrs. M. Pasha Watson’s funeral business. The collection also consists of several maps of Maryland and Delaware, dating 1901-2009.

Thomas Wimbrow collection

This collection consists of a photograph and photocopies of railroad company tickets. The photograph was taken circa 1915 at the Whaleyville, Maryland station of the Baltimore, Chesapeake and Atlantic Railroad. The men in the photograph are Horace Hamblin, Ranzie Jones and Orville Cooper and are dressed in World War I army uniforms. The photocopies are an 1892 excursion ticket from the Baltimore & Eastern Shore Railroad Company and a 1922 Baltimore, Chesapeake & Atlantic Railway Company ticket. Also documented are two photographs of Sue Stewart Bounds grandparents, Grace Williams Stewart, and William E. Stewart, with corresponding photographs of their headstones.
